Your key responsibilities — in the office

You will be a member of the Chartering Fleet Support team and report directly to the head of the department. In this role, you will serve as the technical interface between the operations, vessels, and commercial departments. Your main duties will include:

  • Developing detailed cargo documentation, such as stowage, lifting and securing plans, stability calculations, and method statements.
  • Advising on hold preparation, vessel readiness, and seamanship matters.
  • Communicating directly with Masters and owners regarding stowage and handling procedures.
  • Providing accurate vessel data and technical input to support safe cargo operations.
    Contributing to voyage and scheduling meetings together with the operations and chartering teams.
Your key responsibilities — on site / on board

You will oversee and coordinate cargo operations on location, including:

  • Supervising loading, unloading, and securing of heavy-lift and project cargoes.
  • Organizing stevedore teams and coordinating daily working schedules.
  • Acting as ForestWave’s on-site representative and main point of contact between vessel, port, and office.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper handling procedures during all stages of cargo operations.
  • Troubleshooting operational challenges and reporting on-site developments.
Your profile

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both spoken and written.
Fluent command of English; Dutch or German proficiency is an advantage.
Confident working with ship’s crew and port personnel.
Structured, reliable, and detail-oriented in your approach.
Skilled in practical problem solving and calm under time pressure.
Capable of making independent decisions and prioritizing effectively.
Solid computer literacy; experience with AutoCAD or similar software is a must.
Understanding of vessel structure, stability, and strength principles.
Practical knowledge of stowage, securing, and handling requirements for heavy-lift and breakbulk cargoes.
